Internet Marketing 101

Chances are if you are reading this, you want to know how to make money leveraging the internet, but have no idea of what is actually required to build a business online. Well, I’m going to take it back to the basics.

There are 5 things you must have in order to have a successful online business:

Blog

You must have some kind of ‘online real estate’ for people to visit. This is your central hub to promote your products/services. If you do not have a blog, click here.

Capture Page

This is a simple page that captures people’s names and email addresses so you can follow up with them. Typically 95% of the people who come across your offer will not buy off the jump. Most people need at least 7-10 exposures before they make a decision.

Autoresponder

This is a tool that automatically follows up with potential customers by sending emails on your behalf. The capture page collects email addresses and the autoresponder sends a series of messages to those emails.

Highly Converting Offer

Whatever you are selling, it must convert well or you will be out of business. How do you know if what you have is a highly converting offer? Well, if there is a high demand for what you’re offering, then that’s half the battle. If you know that there are a lot of people buying, then you pretty much have something that people are willing to give YOU money for, if you were selling it.

Traffic

When it comes to real estate, it about location, location, location! On the internet, it’s about traffic, traffic, traffic! This is not the Field of Dreams…just because you build it, they will come…you must position your to receive the eyeballs that are already hanging out in certain places online.

Summary

Well, there you have it…internet marketing 101. If you have these 5 things (a blog, capture page, autoresponder, highly converting offer and traffic), you can build any kind of business online. Keep in mind that how you get eyeballs to your offer will depend on your skill set and how well you know your target audience.
